Delegates from NEPAD visit and show an interest in cooperating with Addis Ababa Science and Technology University
The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) was adopted by African Heads of State and Government and ratified by the African Union (AU) in 2002 to address Africa’s development problems within a new paradigm. Its main objectives are to reduce poverty, put Africa on a sustainable development path, halt the marginalization of Africa, and empower women. Along with these delegates from the NEPAD member countries, paid a visit to the Addis Ababa science and technology university. During their visit, they observed the university’s center of excellence, which helps do research at the national level. They have gained experience that will be an asset for the development program’s work in Africa.
In addition, Addis Ababa Science and Technology University and the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) have a common interest in doing general research.
