Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) Library is established in 2011, as one of the functional units of the newly established university.

The AASTU Library service is aimed at supporting the University’s mission of excellence in the teaching-learning, research and technology transfer, strategic partnership, as well as institutional capacity building by making information resources accessible, easy and timely to all the university community.

For such a purpose, building a strong library service is necessary. AASTU library is working to become the resource center of the University. i.e., to become the information and resource destination for the university staff by archieving all the necessary university documents, such as signed MoUs, internal guidelines, curricula, etc. It is also working on collecting and providing the students (both UG and PG) with the information and resources that facilitate lifelong learning, research skills, personal and career development.

Currently, the library has about 40,000 physical collections and over 37,000  e-book resources in the areas of science and engineering, serving the university community 24/7. The digital library is supported by over 550 internet connected desktop computer facility. In addition to helping our students who has no personal computers, the library computer facility serves as a training and online examination center for internal and external users.

Moreover, the library is connected with different national and International Digital Library Databases, and free learning sites.
