Circulation services

Libraries

The circulation section is the frontline of the library system, where the library resources are channeled directly to the university community. The University libraries have been circulating books, bound journals and other library materials—which relate to and supplement each program offered by the University, the University research activities, as well as those for general, cultural, recreational and lifelong reading.

Library catalogue

The Catalog is available for users to locate books and research materials at any one of the library computers or online at www.aastu.edu.et/library. Students and staff can search books online anywhere in or out of campus through e-Catalog service, called online public access catalog (OPAC) to select the type of books they want to borrow from the library (for spot reading or long-term loan). To support the manual circulation and documentation services, AASTU library has implemented library automation system using KOHA integrated library management system.

The library strives to meet the information needs of its patrons. If you need help finding a book, or are unable to locate it in the stacks, you may request that a search be conducted to locate it. If you need a book that has been checked out by another patron, you may request that a Hold request or Recall be placed on the item. We will do our best to locate the item and notify you when it is available.
