To enhance the contemporary teaching landscape, the Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) held an insightful seminar under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Befikadu Lemma. The focus of this academic discourse is on applying the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) model within the framework of the current teaching-learning process.
According to Dr. Befikadu, ‘being an expert in a subject doesn’t automatically make one a great teacher; it rather requires merging subject knowledge with teaching skills, now extended to include technology’.
Attendees learned how TPACK helps educators navigate technology’s integration, enabling a richer learning experience. He showcased wiki-based collaborative learning, demonstrating how TPACK transforms traditional teaching.
The seminar underlined AASTU’s commitment to innovative education methods, empowering educators to create dynamic learning environments by harnessing TPACK’s potential.
